Adding more vitamins to my diet
hi,I had the problem yesterday with being faint. I did have a piece of bread to feel better,it did work. But I cant keep doing that on this diet so, I bought two more vitamins, I got calcium&magnesium mix 334mg of calcium and167mg of magnesium and I also got an extra C with 500mg. Currently I am taking DR Atkins basic 3 and Essential oils. Will it be safe to add the extra c and calcium? Luckly I didnt gain any weight back I am still at my 6 pound lose at 8 days on diet. I love this diet but I dont want to feel sick so maybe more vitamins will help.

I don't think its the vitamins or lack thereof for your feintness. Are you eating enough? Are you dehydrated? Sometimes we drink so much water our body expells it too fast...adding a little salt helps.
BTW, you take far more suppliments than I do - I take a multi/vit & mineral, calcium, omega 3 oils, potassium and Vit c. |
I have been drinking tons of water over a gallon a day. Plus I have a caffine free hot tea and some seltzer.

Feeling weak in your first few days of induction is normal, as far as I know. I went through the same thing and it lasted for 3 or 4 days, then cleared up. I was told that it is my body adjusting itself from carb burning to fat burning. Just hang on! |
I've found it helpful to enter my nutrients into fitday.. it gives you an idea of what you should be taking. I was feeling dizzy, headachy, weak, had occasional heart palpitations, and lacked energy. Fitday showed was that I was deficient in magnesium and folate. I did some research and discovered that lack of these minerals could very well be the culprit. I've added magnesium and folic acid to my daily intake and feel much better.
