ketosis question
 

Hello everyone. I am 3 weeks into my diet and I have been using the ketosis testing strips daily. This morning I tested negative and I didn't stray from the diet. Is this normal?????

The strips never tested pink for me..I assume it is because i drank lots of water:)

So don't get crazy over it and just keep on going.

Because of the posts on this forum, I have never tried the strips. It seems like for some the results are not indicative of their weight loss. I'm not at all surprised to hear that it didn't even register. The results are so unreliable.

Yes, they aren't all that accurate. Besides, you breathe out more ketones than leave in the urine. And then there are the ones that leave via the intestines. SO the strips never get all of them anyway. Dr. Atkins Center in NYC used to use a big expensive machine to test for ketones in the breath as that was more accurate.

I have been using Ketostrips for 6 weeks. I keep notes off all the foods and liquid intake, as well as the Ketostrips results. My findings are; early morning after I get up they show positive. After I drink a couple of cups of coffee, they show trace or negative. If I don’t drink anything till evening, they again register trace or higher, but if I consume liquids through the day, the results are negative. My conclusion, the strip results fluctuate depending on our liquid intake.

I'm following Induction strictly; why won't my strips turn purple?
