Atkins Bake Mix Substitute?
I can not stand the taste of Atkins Bake Mix. :Puke:
I remember someone had posted a substitute recipe but I can't seem to find it. There are a few recipes I'd like to try that calls for Atkins mix that I can't make until I find the substitute recipe. Can anyone help me please? |
Hi Norma June,
This is the recipe for the substitute bake mix, but as it also contains soy flour (which I believe is the ickity tasting part) you may not like that either. Sorry I can't help more. :rose:Rosebud:rose: |
Thanks Rosebud, much appreciated. The soy make taste kind of yucky but it's still better than Atkins Bake Mix isn't it?

I live in Canada and I have been making my own faux bake mix for months. ( cant buy jack in canada unless i wanna give arms and legs for it sadly) I am visitin in the US right now and have just tried the atkins bake mix.
I think its much better "tasting" than the faux mix i have been making although i noticed tonite when i made some flaxseed muffins it certainly doesnt rise or bake as well as my mix. Will be triin atkins mix tomorrow to make pancakes and i am curious if i will like them better than the ones i make at home. Faux mix i make is 1 cup soy flour - 1 cup soy protein isolate - i tsp salt and 1 tbsp bake powder / Sift together 3 times all ingredients. |
The bread mix I made does not contain soy flour, it is made with low glycemic cornstarch instead and man oh man, does it taste bad!

I too am looking for Atkins baking substitutes, I have heard that you can use Spelt flour, but am trying to find out if that is true, I dont know how to figure out the net carbs per serving and whether it is a good choice, I did make muffins with it today, they werent too bad.
