Progress, progress, everywhere!

I started out with the singular goal of losing weight and fitting into my skinny clothes that I haven't worn in years but couldn't bear to part with. It's been years and years since I've exercised regularly and I had NO intention of adding that back into my routine. I hate getting up early...I have back trouble...I just DON'T like it! But, then, after lurking around here for a while, I decided that perhaps it would speed things up. I got the TaeBo tapes off the shelf and struggled through the Basic workout...four times last week. By the third time, it wasn't such a struggle to get through it so I decided to attempt the Advanced tape. I made it about 25 minutes and had to quit. The next time I did it, I lasted 40 minutes. Today, I made it 50 minutes. We're only talking about 6 workouts so far and already I feel much stronger, my back pain is lessening, I'm not completely dreading it anymore...I *almost* enjoy it!

Today, I got up an hour earlier than usual (a miracle!) to get my workout in and get cleaned up before getting breakfast around for my kids. I'm finding that I need less sleep than before. Unbelievable!

And as for the eating part of this WOL...I'm still staying around induction levels (sometimes going as high as 25 carbs) but I'm trying new recipes and LOVING it. I was cranky and felt deprived for the first week or so, but now I feel fantastic and I don't even think about the foods I can't have...I just really enjoy the things I CAN have.

I just wanted to encourage those of you who are just starting out. It doesn't take long to start seeing real results and success breeds success. Just stay the course. If you haven't added in any exercise, give it a shot. Don't feel like you have to be able to do a LOT right from the start. Just do what you can and add a little more when you're able. You'll feel great and the inches will come off faster.

Yea, isn't exercise great, once I'm really in a routine I get addicted to it and feel lousy if I don't get some every day, my husband thinks I am crazy - he hates to exercise and likes to keep everything within an arms length of where he's sitting so he wont have to move too much to get it!!!!!!

Yay for exercise.
