From my experience, everyone is different. Your age, metabolism, hormonal belances or embalances, thyroid funtions all play a part on what you will lose. Expectations are as various as the different ways to prepare eggs. This is an eating lifestyle. Let your body define its progress.

That's a whole lot of weight you are carrying Del.

If one sticks to a LC diet the initial loss of weight can be impressive but if you default by returning to carbs that weight will be regained just as quickly.

LC is a way of life which happens to have an unsociable side to it like when eating away from home when you're not in control of the diet. It is then that planning is required in advance on how to overcome such potential problems.

When first entering the diet some people experience side-effects and one of the common is constipation until the body adjusts to the new diet. Taking a little coconut daily (any coconut product) helps in managing this awkward problem.

On average one can expect to lose 14 lbs in the first 2 - 3 weeks then thereafter around 3 - 4 lbs weekly, but, much depends on the person's weight on entry and their commitment thereafter.

Hope this piece of information will help you.

You can do this! Just come up with a plan and stick to it! It is best to clean out the kitchen of anything that could tempt you!

You can do anything if you want it bad enough.
Best of luck.

Welcome to the forum! Weight loss rate is highly individual and varies based upon age, sex, previous dieting experience, etc. All I can tell you is that if you follow a low carb eating plan you will end 2005 thinner than you began it.

You might want to check out the Triple Digits Club -- it's for people with 100 or more pounds to lose. You can find it midway down the homepage of the forum.

Me too. But, as obese folks, haven't we gotten used to that? Nah. So sorry.

My comment is not a criticism girls. It was an acknowledgement of Delp's frankness. I wonder why you both saw it as being otherwise? Delp has my commiserations and my sincerest wishes that she will succeed in her endeavour. I know that she is a lovely person at heart and she too knows she is. If either of you were to provide constructive advice rather than sitting on the fence pecking others to death I feel Delp would welcome it.

MissScruff Tue, Jan-04-05 23:34

I wasn't "pecking." And, since when did a welcome need to be constructive??
