Ok I made it to Day 2..Does it get easier?

 I've made it to day two, after starting and stopping 3 or 4 times. Does this get easier as you go along? I'm such a carb junkie. While on Induction will it hurt to have may one can of diet cola or one serving of half&half in one cup of coffee pr day or even everyother day? I found the Advantage bars (I live in Ontario and its hard to find product) will they hurt me if I eat one each day as a snack? or maybe to fix a craving?

I think if you stick to induction for the full two weeks you will find it will curb your cravings.

Look for jolly rancher's jello, it is sweetened with splenda.

Use whipping cream (liquid) in your coffee, some cinnamon makes it very good.

Some people stall with the bars, and watch if they are sweetened with malitol, this can cause tummy upset. I'd wait until after induction to try these. Induction gives you a clean slate, and you may not even want them after that.

It does get easier, the first week is usually the hardest because you are getting rid of all those cravings, it is common to have a headache and maybe be tired, but usually by 3-5 days you will get a boost of energy.

You don't have to have eggs and bacon for breakfast -- it really can be anything you want -- devilled eggs, pork chops, steak, whatever you want (as long as it's low carb).

Diet Rite is sweetened with splenda instead of aspartame.

Feel free to read other's journals for other ideas and check out the recipe section for some inspiration.

Hi keelac,

I would suggest decaf coffee, instead of half and half use heavy cream it is so much richer and tastier too. Diet sodas are ok at a minimum, I hear Diet Rite is good but I have only tried diet coke and diet cherry coke. I don't know about the Atkins bars during induction. My definite answer would be no, but wait for someone with more experience to answer that. I'm still learning myself, but so far this has worked for me. Good Luck and try hard.

Hi keelac. Welcome! YES, it does get better. My advice is to keep your induction as "clean" as possible. Eat whole foods. Stay away from diet colas with aspartame (some have complained they cause their weight to stall) and stay away from the bars (some have complained they cause their weight to stall).

Drnk plenty of water. Consume the alloted 20g of carbs per day. NO eating less carbs won't help you lose faster. Eat good fats, they are your friend. Follow the rules of induction and read your book inside out.

Use fitday.com to calculate your carbs so you know that you are not going over the 20g and are getting the 20g of carbs.

Good luck. :D

Thanks for the suggestions. I can do the decaf coffee thing, I fine with that. Howver, I hate the taste of cream in my coffee. I'll try the whipping cream thing with a little cinnamon, that sound kind of nice. I live in Ontario and spendla sweetened products are not easily available. I found some Hunt's no sugar added jello and tried that it was good. Sweetened with Splenda of course. The Whipping cream thing sounds interesting. Top of my shopping list tomorrow. Thanks again eveyone, glad I found you!
