Mayo Clinic Diet?
Hello All!
I posted this question under another topic, but I thought I would ask here as well. I'm new to low carbing and have been attempting :( to use the Dr. Atkins way. In the mean time, however, I saw someone mention the "Mayo Clinic Diet" and wondered if anyone here knows anything about it, or if they are actually following that program. Also, what is CKD? Any info for this novice would be appreciated. Thank you, Eileen P.S. Glad I found this site, I think it will help me get back on track. :) |

Thank you, Teri
Dear Teri,
Thank you for all your information, it was a real eye-opener. By the way, I had seen the reference to the "Mayo Clinic Diet" under the "Success Stories" titled The Last Diet I'll Ever Be On... by Kathleen. Thanks again for your help. Eileen |
I think what Kathleen is saying is that she was prompted to start low-carbing which to her was the “last diet I’ll ever be on.” So, she was changing the way she ate to be the last diet.

The so-called Mayo Clinic Diet is not a low-carb way of eating. It's a short term water weight dump. Karen |
I tried the "Mayo Clinic Diet" once a long time ago. Low cal. Low fat. No success. No fun.

Mystery Solved (LOL)
Dear Lisa and Karen,
Thank you so much for your feed back on the Mayo Clinic thing. While I was waiting for a response from this site, I did find something on the net about the plan, and it does seem a little off. For instance, 1 1/2 grapefruits every day! That seems a little over the top, that's at least 30 carbs to start!! Again, thank you for your information. Eileen :daze: |
