The Food Network
I love this cable channel. I really enjoy watching them make this stuff and in the past I even tried to make some of it.
Some of the shows, like Good Eats, actually can help this diet. Alton Brown, the host, did a show on how to cook the perfect steak. I tried it, it worked and WOW.... The funny thing is I can still watch it and not have a craving or anything else......... sorta like overcoming your fears by doing that which you fear. Damn, I feel like G. Gordon Liddy now.... pass me that rat! Max |
I also enjoy watching shows on the food network. Even though i'm not one for experimenting.

I watch Food Network whenever I have a chance. I love finding new dishes or new ways of preparing an old favorite meat or vegetable. My problem is I'm always thinking "Now how can I make that low carb?" while I'm watching!
My daughters are now starting to get interested in these cooking programs as well and have been asking some good questions as to why the cooks/chefs do certain things with the food they are cooking, so it gives me a chance to do some culinary education as well. :) |
We saw Alton Brown at the Orange County Fair this summer. The Food Network is Cool. Rachel Ray did a low carb version of 30 minute meals.

I have to stay away form the foodnetwork. I love the shows, but when they show a piece of fresh baked chocolate cake just drizzling with chocolate sauce, or have an episode devoted to cheese cake I know I'm in trouble.
The iron chef gets me to creative too. For some reason my broccoli icecream didn't work as well as the one made on the show :p |
