ok I can deal with the fact I cheated but...?

only christmas get together was tonight at mom and dad's. I had every intention of not cheating, but once I got there it was bye bye all good intentions. I even took some La Tortillia's to make my sandwich, took LC broccoli/cauliflower salad, and a LC cake I baked last night. BUT, santa got baked some M&M brownies and I just had to have one, I figure well you blew it might as well eat a bun with your sandwich, and some potato chips and my mom's famous delish potato salad.

I was wondering if I go back to 20 carbs starting tomorrow do I have to start induction all over again, or will just the 20 carbs finally get me back into ketosis. I know that after 5 hours since I ate I'm not in ketosis, feel bloated and extreamly gas filled. I really don't want to go back to strict induction starting tomorrow, how long does it take to get back into ketosis usually? The same 2-3 days it took when I started induction a month ago, or will it go faster since I don't have all the stored glucose. I've already downed 1 liter of water since I got home, and I know I'll be looking at a weight gain in the am and I'm prepared for that- not liking the fact of it, but I know it's gonna be there the salt I ate today would be enough without the added carbs.

I don't think it is necessary to go back to induction unless you want to. I would suggest that you avoid the scale for a few days as you probably will have a temporary weight gain. Why inflict dissapointment on yourself? It is Christmas, so don't be too hard on yourself. As long as you get back on plan you will be fine. Merry Christmas!

Then don't weigh yourself tomorrow... not to be flippant, but why torture yourself? Any weight that shows up in the morning will be water, since fat doesn't "grow" overnight.

20 grams of carbs IS induction, isn't it? It may or may not take as long to get back into ketosis, but just jump right back on and don't look back!

even after induction I was trying to stay between 20 and 25 carbs, just added in some other foods in the OWL for verity. Complete induction was way too restrictive for me and my job, I needed those La Tortillias for packed lunches. I want to weigh really to see how much I gained since I haven't cheated yet. A good reminder for the next weak moment lol.

We had our Xmas dinner tonight. I made Faux twice baked potatoes ( cauliflower) and didn't have the stuffing and I did really well til I got to the dessert that my daughter brought. Then I blew the day!! But- you know - I still ate less carbs than I did last Xmas, before doing Atkins. S0- I'm just going to go back to the way I was eating. Don't beat yourself up! Just get back on track, starting right now!

I also did some cheating yesterday. Seems some fudge was there with a my name on it. But I am right back on, walking and drinking lots of water. Like you said so much better than what I did last year. Happy Holidays :)

it must not have been as bad as I thought, I was only up 1.5 this morning, and with all the salt in the ham, chips and peanuts I don't think that's bad!

It's up to you. If you start having problems with cravings, or overeatingon legal foods to avoid eating non LC foods, then yes go back to induction to clean out your system and get back on track. Otherwise just pick up where you left off.

Take it as a live and learn type thing. Look back and think which treats were worth it. Could you have survived and been happy with just 1 bite or 2 of the M&M brownie? Also a small cheat doesn't mean throw away the rest of the day or that nice gassy bloating feeling is worse. Next time just decide what's worth it and what's not, then force yourself to stick to that. You'll feel alot more in control.

no no as long as you are a SAINT for the next 2-3 days you will lsoe your cravings and be fine again...just dont give in to the cravings the next 2 days will be somewhat tough! (me too)

I ate it all too! fudge, chocolate chip cookies, sweet potatoes, stuffing, even corn! felt really bloated too, but now this morning feeling better already and ready to go back to Lc'ing. Was it worth it, yes I think so. Also am not weighing myself until next week sometime.

Now..I hope your house isnt full of cookies like mine is!!! I am suffering with these things in here and I cant ditch them either since the other 3 ppl in my house are not eating LC.

There was 3 dozen springerle cookies at my brother's house with my name on them - literally. They were packed in a nice cookie tin that had my name on the name tag. (Gift from my mom who lives in Texas). They are still at my brother's house and everyone has been cautioned NOT to tell mom I refused to have anything to do with them. They can just eat and enjoy all of my springerle cookies and I don't want mom's feelings hurt. They were baked with love but I don't want those sugar cravings to start all over again.
