Hiya! I think you'll have to add up the carbs to figure that one out; it depends on the brand of stuff you had and how much. That sounds tasty, but it *might* have been a little high on the carb side. You might want to swap the half-and-half (which is half milk) for real cream. You also might want to save a few bucks by buying some plain cocoa powder - no carbs or artificial sweeteners.

A good way to thicken shakes is with psyllium powder. It's plain ol' fiber. Also helps fill you up (and keep you regular. )

Hi Kristine. Where do you get psyllium powder?

rondaj Tue, Jul-16-02 10:40

Thanks kristene I think I will get some of the powder I didn't gain yestereday but I didn't loose either and am retaining water today. I'm still new to this and am experimenting due to a mouth surgery I will have to be on a liquid diet next month and thought I would try to break in now for it by replacing at least one meal a day with a shake. I really appreciate your help and advice. Ronda

No problem - food has always been my favorite topic. :D

Tanyaskees - you can get psyllium at drug and grocery stores near the Metamucil and other digestive products. Health food stores should have it, too. It's not too expensive - I think I paid $9 Canadian for a one-pound bag.

Thanks Kristine, already have it in my hot little hands. Can't wait to try it :).
