Chicken Broth?
Does anyone have the nutritional information for homemade chicken broth? Backs were boiled, no veggies or anything else added...refrigerated and then all fat removed. trying to work the numbers but I really don't have a clue what it would be.
Thanks in advance! |
I think it would be very similar to this:
http://www.lowcarb.ca/low-carb-tool...x=10&search.y=6 minus the carbohydrates and divided by 2 because an equal volume of water is added to condensed chicken broth before using. Karen |
Um, pardon my alzheimer state here but .....
... if chicken backs have zero carbs, and water has zero carbs ... and no veggies were added .. then wouldn't the count still be zero?? Or am I missing something?
 Doreen |
Yeah, but there is protein, nutrients, etc. that will be present in the stock from cooking the chicken. Water also binds with fat in the cooking process, so there will always be a bit of fat present.

Alzheimer's strikes again. I guess I was just thinking carbs ... You mean, there's other nutrients I must consider???? :D
