Scaled Finally Moved after 6 weeks!

I lost 6 pounds on induction, 2 more pounds in the following week, then NOTHING for the past 6 weeks. In fact, I often weighed MORE on some days. Then wordlady started a "banishing the last ten' thread last Sunday, and I don't know if it's coincidence or just paying more attention to water/exercise/calories, but I dropped a pound and a half in the last two days. Woo-hoo! I sure hope this is a trend...

For those of you who feel stuck, I hope this gives you new hope.

Congratulations! So, those nasty lard lizards finally got their feet off your scale! You gotta watch out for them. You think you have done everything right but NO...they sneak up when you weigh and add their weight to your weigh-in.
You are doing great!

too funny mr. e and thanx ellie that does give me hope. the scale went up this week and i added more calories and fat and i added taebo to my pilates and weights. i was so discouraged, but patience has not been one of my virtues, although, persistence is.... so thanx again!

Good going, Poetree. 6 weeks is long enough to wait.

Congratulations!!!

I've heard those last few pounds take forever to get off, but didn't realize the loss might stall completely for THAT long!!! Way to go on your patience!

stalled loss

Have been Atkins for four and a half months and have lost only nine pounds. Went all the way back to the basics and found that a) was drinking way too much diet soda, b) NOT drinking enough water, much as I hate the stuff, and c) not exercising, which I hate even more than water. I'm allergic to the sun, too- break out in big fat hives when I'm out more than about five minutes. So, I'm trying to switch the proportion of soda and water, and it seems to be helping. I was down about a pound this week. The strips were always purple, so that wasn't a help. My diet partner, however, has lost twenty-five pounds. Good for him. He eats way more than I do, unfortunately, but is also much more active. I have a physical job but don't move fast and don't want to.

yes

You do give me hope.
Thanks for the uplifting story.

Ellie....I have flagged your post to use as inspiration if and when I get to the point you describe. Am just starting and I fear what you describe as I am results oriented, short term gratification kind of guy. Ive already muttered to myself..."If I dont see XYZ (weight loss) on the scale - Im outta here and eating what I want" - which is obviously a bad attitude.

Ive added you to my buddy list...but am too junior to PM anyone yet :p

best to you...J

I somehow lost this thread I started but wanted to reply with my woefully tardy thanks for all your support. Unfortunately, I've gained back what I've lost and I'm stuck again now. Phooey.

Your posts sounds just like me. lol I'm having the same problem and our weight is about the same, I lost 9 lbs. the a stall for a long long time, then lost 2 lbs more but keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs, I've tried everything, sooooooo frustrating.

Ellie, you little stringbean! LOL! Hell, I have a butt cheek that weighs more then YOU!

You have done great...you are getting the benefits of being an Atkins...so if that darn scale does not want to lose, so what....you are way better off still!

It will go when it goes. You are so close to goal...and goal is only a number. How do you FEEL? I bet pretty darn good except for that "number" you are trying to reach. So, fagetaboutit....be happy...you have accomplished alot!
CONGRAT's on your being alive and healthy!
Best wishes;
Optomistic Jake
