Slow loss
Hey there, I'm new to all this, and I was wondering if when you only have about 20lbs to lose - whether the rate of loss is fairly slow? Is there anything I should be doing to get it going faster (I know everyone wants to lose right away but just curious). I have lost about 2.5lbs in this first week but I do feel good. Any good advice or info on this.

Hey....our stats are similar (didn't see you height though, so I might be off), but I can tell you that for me weight loss is MUCH slower than for other people on this site. I am lucky if I lose 1 pound in 10 days. You just have to be patient. I guess I can stay positive about it because, since I am so close to my goal, every one pound I lose make a big difference in my appearence. Hang in there!!

I am 5'6" and yes you are right every little bit makes a HUGE difference. How did you go with your first week - do you remember?

I'm a yo-yo Atkins goer! I have started and restared it so many times (I know I know...not good!). Typically for me, when I restart and do induction I will lose about 3-4 pounds in the first week, and then it slows right down. Not too encouraging I know! I don't exercise as much as I should either though, so I'm sure that doesn't help! I'm 5'5" so we're very similar in size.....you may have better results than me though....everyone is different. Good luck!

I still have 8 pounds to lose and right now, im losing about 1 pound a month!! But I did start out great: I had 30 pounds to lose, lost 5 the first week and 3 the second (8 pounds on strict induction). Weightloss went downhill from there!! But I feel great!! Hypoglycemia is gone!! I keep telling myself, "At least im not gaining!" |
Slowly but surely! There's no miracle way to drop twenty lbs., unless you do it the drastically unhealthy way. I started out with about 30 lbs. to lose 4 1/2 months ago, and I'm not there yet, but ever week, I get a little bit smaller.
