cough drops

I got sick with the flu last week and I've been coughing my lungs out... are Halls sugar free cough drops OK to use while on the atkins diet? I'm still in induction, by the way...

While not ideal, I think they will better than coughing your lungs out! :) A few months ago when I was sick, I used them - can't imagine how I survived without them. I userd them mainly to soothe my throat. The sugar free cough syrup worked great for those deep down coughs.

Feel better soon! :bhug:

I had the same problem this week. Get a dry scratchy throat, and as soon as I lie down in bed, the coughing starts. The SF Halls soothe the throat, and the SF syrup stops the cough. Sometimes I guess we just have to do what we feel is best, and see how it goes.

oh crap.....i have those sugar free cough drops and i never looked at the ingrediants. If it contains sweeteners like sucralose, malitol and friendly type o f sweeteners, its ok. JUST NO ASPARTAME

FYI...I had a bad flu a couple of months ago, very bad sore throat; I loaded up on sugar free cough/throat lozenges. Got very bad stomach pains/gas etc.. I believe these products have maltitol, which in some people (evidently me) cause stomach upset, especially in large quantities.
