protein shakes for breakfast

I am wondering if a protein shake is enough for breakfast considering that I won't be eating another meal for about 2 hours? Would it be better to eat a protein meal?

A protein shake IS a protein meal. If you are going to eat in only 2 hours, a protein shake ought to hold you that long, especially if you can figure out how to add some fat to it. Use a could of tsps. of heavy cream or some oil like flax or borage (if you like the taste). It is the fats we eat that give us the feeling of fullness and satisfaction.

You can try drinking the shake and see how you feel when your next planned mealtime rolls around.

I have a protein shake every morning. It holds me from 7:00 am to about 10:00 am.

I've been making mine with two scoops and 500 mL of water. I add 2 tsp of coconut oil and 2 tsps of psyillium husks for fibre.

Many people add flax oil. You can also add glutamine powder to your shake as well.

So, go for it.

Yup, that should tie you over. A protein shake is also a good meal with which to take your suppliments, since high fiber reduces the absorption of some nutrients (like calcium.)

Good idea Alena! I think I'll try my Psyllium husk fiber in my shake tomorrow morning! I'll add a shot of my new Davinci orange flavored syrup too  See, you all give me the best ideas. That will kill two "birds" with one swallow. :spin:
Thanks.....Shari
