Since you are following Schwartzbien, you need to follow the outlines she gives you in the book. I've only read the book from the library and don't exactly have it memorized like most of my Atkins book ;)

I believe she is particular about what kind of oils you use, no transfats allowed. She may also be down on artificial sweetners, I can't recall. I'm pretty sure she is against low fat.

She also has a new book out called Schwartzbien Principle II. She may have changed some of her guidelines.

When in doubt, check with your plans book.

fish good

I am on atkins, and yes, I fry my fish....The other day...frying catfish like I normally do, but instead of cornmeal, I put pork rinds in blender....then added parmesian cheese, salt and pepper...I dipped the fish in egg batter....then sprinkled on the cheese/pork rinds....dipped again and repeated..then put in hot grease.....you can also do this without the pork rinds...I pan fried my boneless chicken breast like that today...It is wonderful..I can't taste the cheese..I also blacken, bake, or grill fish...so really...you can eat it most anyway....maybe not stuffed flouncer with stuffing....:(...but other wise life goes on much the same....:)
