Hey guys,

So, I am going out tonight to celebrate my graduation from college...and I really want to have just one drink. I haven't had any alcoholic beverage since starting Atkins (in Jan.) and I just want one, small one....so.....any ideas?
Light Beer?
Rum and Diet Coke?
I don't so much care for rum....but I am open to any ideas!! I am looking for something low carb, sugar free!

I have a couple of drinks several times a week, but i count it in my carbs,

I also have a couple once or twice a week...

My go to's are:
mandarin vodka and soda, no lime
vodka and soda, no lime
Amstel Light- 5 carbs per beer
Michelob Ultra Light- 2.6 carbs per beer

If you've gone since January without a drink.... have whatever your heart desires.. as long as its not a keg full...

Gin and diet tonic
Vodka and diet tonic
Dryest red wine
Plain hard liquor - ie. scotch, whiskey
Scotch and water
Manhattan
Martini (dry is best)

I had a drink on Saturday to celebrate my husband's birthday - I had a dirty Ketel one martini (dirty means olive juice added). It hit the spot, and I didn't notice any bloat, nor did it trigger me to overeat.

I thought flavored vodkas had carbs? Is that just a misconception?

Many of the flavoured spirits do have carbs in them, depending on what was used to flavour them.

You need to do a web search for the name of the drink plus the word "carb" or "nutritional information" to see if your preferred one is one with more carbs than you want to drink!

Many manufacturer's websites will give the information too.

Yeah see I dont let he carbs bother me when drinking alcohol...then it would ruin what I wanted to achieve...LOL I drink rarely but when I do its to take a mental vacation and I am sure drinking cherry vodka is so much better than me mixing up a full fledge white russian..which I have mastered a low-carb verson for myself =)

I know baja bob has carry along margarita mix packets - you just ask for a shot of tequila then put over ice - it doesn't have carbs or calories!! And I do like the plain one - just like the real thing otherwise I stick to lc beer
