bad breath

i'm following the CAD diet an can only have 3 meals per day, no snacking at all. As a result of not eating often I have bad breath. My mouth smalls like i'm on a hunger strike. Has anybody else experienced bad breath problems as well. love to hear from you! I haven't been able to come up with any solutions to rid my mouth of the hunger smell. I'd appreciate any tips.

I don't have any breath issues, so I am not sure what you are talking about. Are you doing LC and in ketosis? My breath problem is usually garlic breath. I love garlic :yum:

What about brushing your teeth does that help? Or may those listerine strips? I don't chew gum or eat mints.... I do feel it effects my appetite. So I am not any help. Sorry!

Actually poptop, most would agree i think, that it is not uncommon when first starting to lc and in ketosis. Not only was my breath not really pleasant but I also had a funny taste in my mouth. it did pass after a while. hope this helps. Marlene

Hi, poptop- welcome!
I know that eating a whole bunch of cheese and chicken at 11:30 doesn't leave the best odor until 5:00-
Gums and breath mints can cause you to crave, so don't try them- I would try brushing your teeth or using mouthwash after you eat- just try not to swallow any of it! I also drink water all day long, so it dilutes any smell and gives me something to do with my mouth.
You posted another concern about chronic bad breath. Check remedies online or go see your dentist- you could have a problem with gums or your tongue and it not be your teeth.
Good luck with this and I applaud you for being aware- so many people don't know or don't care!! :D

Thanks every one for your suggestions! I brush my teeth morning andnight only as it is not practical for me to do it during working hours but rinsing the mouth with a mouth wash is an idea I didn't think of. I'll have to give it a try!
