Do you know what is the absolute best part about that? The direct corelation sociologists have found between people who have very small incomes and very large waistlines. :rolleyes: We can only hope that the price will decrease as this particular WOE increases in popularity.

I haven't eaten at any of the others...But, the Casino Magic who doesn't say much about its Buffet on its website has ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT Prime Rib, Crab, Cheese, etc...on the Buffet at Dinner. I believe they charge about $13. Add $5 for the Bus ticket and its about half what Atkins delivery costs. They had a coupon a few months back [unfortunately I couldn't go at that time] for a Bus Ride + Buffet for $5. If they put another one of those out, I'll definitely use it.

On the bright side, after you get done paying for you meals, there won't be money left to buy junk food!

I'd really love to know how many people take advantage of this offer......though given the size of some of the houses being built out here in our previously bucolic countryside, I'm sure there are some.

On the other hand, the cost (to Atkins) may well be justified. Imagine having to send prepared meals (of any kind) to anywhere in the world?) But who on earth can't sprinkle some spices on a whole fryer and stick it in the oven? I just did.....in a little while I'm going to take two minutes to cook some asparagus and chop up half a cabbage to make cole slaw. I bought the fryer on sale for $1.89, the cabbage was about $1.29 and I've already used half of it. The chicken is a big one, I'll probably splash a half cup of dry sherry on it halfway through baking it, and voila!---we'll have supper and lunch tomorrow for two for under 5 bucks. The asparagus (which I've never been able to spell) is a bit pricey, but worth every cent!

Not that I could ever afford it but it sure is a cool thing to be available!!! Amazing actually...now--to win the lottery.

The cost is more that I spend for 2 weeks groceries. I did check it out however on the Atkins website and I looked at the menus. Looking at them can give you some menu ideas to fix for yourself! :)

It's only available in a couple places right now though :) and did you see the sample plate. It was a very small piece of salmon with thier fake rice side dish.

I think it would be good for a single person with a high paying demanding job. A lawyer or an exec who has extra money and no time to cook.

For anyone on a budget, or who has a family to cook for, I don't think it would work to well.

Besides for that much I could:
Hire a personal trainer
buy home gym equipment
Save a couple months and get the tummy tuck and boob job I want
Pay off the car alot faster
reduce stress which would help weight loss by allowing me to get a decent amount of sleep (it's proven those that get at least 8 hours a night lose better). I've also read recently that stress contributes to retaining weight around the abdomen :P

This is the perfect product for UWOS's! Actually, the perfect product for UWOS parents was those prepackaged bowls of cereal and milk that were being advertised a couple of years ago. I remember thinking at the time, "Are there really parents who find it too difficult to manage to keep cereal, milk, and at least a disposable bowl and spoon in the house at the same time?" Since I haven't seen those bowls in the store since, I guess the answer was no.

This is going to be coming to the NY area soon. I was amazed at the price. This reminds me of the Zone Diet. All the famous people have meals delivered. I guess they're too busy to take care of themselves and need a company to do it. I also thought the portions seemed small. When I have salmon, I have quite a healthy piece. I would love it if you could pick what you wanted to order. A week of lunches packed to go, etc. Instead of whole days.

For 200 bucks a week, I will come to your house and drop you off some bacon and eggs!!!

I had to take a look at your profile before I posted. Sure enough, you are male. I come from the MS coast, still have family there, and have eaten at some of these places and the food is not very good...haven't tried Beau Rivage but will, maybe, on my next trip home. (I try very hard not to be furious at what they have done to what was once a beautiful place, to say nothing of what it has done to the cost of living and way of life, but that is another subject.)

OTOH, you have a point about doing the casino route vs. having your Atkins meals delivered. Not much food and no fun...there is sure a better way to spend that kind of money! :rolleyes:

Maybe they will think about creating these meals in "nuke" format and distribute to grocery stores, I love the convenience but not at that cost.
