Do you eat them, and if so, what do you do with them?

I bought some chia seeds from the bulk section at Winco awhile back. I made pudding with it. Then it sat in my pantry for a looong time.
But I did successfully incorporate a small amount into a one-pound meatloaf. I used it as a binding agent (instead of bread crumbs or rolled oats). I ground up the seeds in a coffee mill before incorporating them into my meatloaf mix. It worked well and I had a nice, juicy meatloaf. I *think* the proper proportion is one tsp per pound of ground meat. YMMV. :) |
