wine and liquor

I am new to low carbing. I am 20-30 lb.s overweight, like protein and I think I will find the diet manageable. However, I'm getting mixed signals about drinking. If I am strict about no carb rules but have a drink of wine or mixed drink daily will I lose more slowly...or not at all?

It depends. It's not allowed at ALL on induction, then sparingly after that. Even if you choose a low or no-carb option, your body will burn the alcohol in preference to burning fat.

I had a friend who low carbed for several months and also drank wine or beer (just a couple) almost every evening with dinner. She didn't have much luck losing weight at all. You may want to consider not drinking for a couple weeks while doing induction and get the weight coming off, then try having a drink and see what happens.

Best of luck to you. Missy :)
