General Intake Question

Hi all-
Sorry that I am writing this, but loaned my book out and now am forgetting how much protien and fat I should have in a day... I am going to keep trak of my intake on fit day and would like to know what to aim for.

I am 6'2", 240lbs and would like to (someday) be around 200-210. I am concentrating on the 5 pound goals though.

What should by fat range be? What should my protien range be?

Also, in protien power, they say that you can deduct fiber grams from the carb ammount to calculate carbs. Is this good for Atkins too?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Stephen...

You can deduct grams of fiber from carb grams to give you a NET carb count, which is what you actually track. Therefore, on induction, if you have 30g carb, 10g fiber, you have 20g net carbs, which would be right on.

As far as percentages, I've seen different values, but they are essentially: 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbs. I usually hit 65-70% fat, 25-30% protein, and 5% carbs unless I am having a weird day. You may find that in order to keep the numbers right, you need to add butter, cream or olive oil to your foods.
