heart health

could i get peoples opinions on how they feel this WOE affects their heart and cholesterol levels.

OHGal1415 Wed, Feb-04-04 10:42

My opinion? It has improved my lipid profile.

And just about anyone I've ever encountered that faithfully follows the Atkins plan sees improved lipid profiles, as well.

No opinion, just facts. :)

My profile improved from dangerous to what is now termed normal. And my blood pressure went from high- normal to low-normal. Those two things are only two of the benefits from low-carbing.

My total cholesterol went down, my triglycerides went down, my HDL went up.

My blood chemistry was fine before; after eating 70% of fat every day for the past year it's still fine.....yes I did check four times during 2003!

N opinion, just fatcs. .. In just 8 weeks, my overall cholesterol, good cholesterol, bad cholesterol and Trigliceride levels all improved.

In Oct '03 Dr. took me off of the blood pressure medication that I had been taking for the past 2-3 years.

I have never had my blood chemistry done, I have not had health insurance. But I think that being 126 pounds overweight is a terrible strain on my heart. I want to get that weight off!! Orchid

i went to get mine checked tuesday, still waiting on results

I had bloodwork done at Christmastime. Here are my results:

HDL = 77
LDL = 59
Triglycerides = 59
glucose = 98

This way of eating has been good for my heart as you can see.
