Perpetuating the myths

Notice they give The Zone an "F".

This so called health website just lost more credibility :

http://health.discovery.com/converg.../margarine.html

"Margarine is derived from vegetable oil and so is not the bad saturated fat like butter. But during its manufacturing process, a new kind of fat can be created called "trans fat," which scientists believe may itself create negative effects on one's health. So to the extent that margarine may be helpful because it's not saturated fat, that benefit may be decreased so that it's roughly equivalent to butter in terms of advantages and disadvantages"

Guess he hasn't read the studies that shows trans fat raises bad cholesterol and decreases good cholesterol.

No wonder our health is all messed up with this kind of advice from the so-called "Experts"

I'd also like to note that besides not telling people that margarine raises the bad cholesterol (LDL) and lowers the good cholesterol (HDL), it has to be exposed to nickel alloy (a known carcinogen) to get it to congeal. Even if this stuff actually tasted good (which it doesn't IMHO), I'd sooner eat no fat at all than this stuff.
