Forgive me for being so rude.

But I am stopped up! I had to use a chemical laxative last night. I eat plently of green veggies, where else can I find a source of fiber that will not effect my daily carb count?

Any Suggestions would be appreciated!

Well...the Sugar Free Metamucil does have a couple of carbs but not enough to really hurt. It has aspartame...I've never had any problem with it.

Hi Angelica,

Don't worry about being rude, its a common problem up here and toilet talk is normal :o some of us even play silly toilet games :D the lucky ones of the other sex that is. :D

For some people physillium tablets or by the spoon, and or flax seed or flax seed oil I think. Some people have found a magic solution in a diet chocolate - I think its is Stovers (not familiar with that brand being Canadian) but I believe the active ingredient if you choose to look at it that way is malitol. :)

Hey, you are NOT alone. I heard about a product here in the forum that I tried over the weekend. If you can believe this, it is called Smooth Move...I kid you not. It's a tea that you drink in the evening. It sure worked for me. It's from a company called Traditional Medicinals which has a website. I found it at my local grocery store. It tastes pretty good but I can't BELIEVE the name.

Hang in there and GOOD LUCK!
Sue

Also try Senna tea. I bet Smooth Move has Senna in it.

ROFL. I don't think anyone is bothered by potty talk around here. It's just a natural occurance that happens with low carb diets. Nothing to be embarresed about (yeah easier said than done)

What kills me is the name of that tea, smooth move?!?!? LMAO.
I just bought some sugar free generic brand metemucil and it did the trick just fine.

ROFL

Hugs Koko and Busy.

LMAO....Smooth Move....I got some of that, it was embarrassing to buy it....I went to a diff store than norm to buy my Laci LeBeau...Dieters Tea....rudely called POOP TEA by my best friend Marie....LOL

So here I am at this store...and I cant find my Laci Lebeau...and found SMOOTH MOVE....ack! OH well I was desperate for relief at the time so I got it..

Of course the cashier read it when she scanned it and then looked at me ....was she trying to see if I "looked" constipated?!?
Was there a desperation in my eyes? ROFLMAOOOOOOOO.

No not a very nice name for a laxative tea.....its not enough that I am miserable from not being able to go....I have to subject myself to announcing it to the world by buying SMOOTH MOVE AKA LOOK AT ME IM ALL STOPPED UP! lmaooooooooooo

Whoa....no more late night posting when sleepy for BB!

and yes.....both the Laci Lebeau and Smooth Move have senna in them.

Nite all,
BB.

Aye yeye yeye......better than Ex-lax.

blatla Tue, Mar-04-03 09:12

OK...for those of you who have bought Smooth Move...what section of the store did you find it in? Is it with the laxatives or the other different types of teas? I'd like to try it out but I sure as heck don't want to go to the store and have to ASK!

UAGirl Tue, Mar-04-03 09:17

I bought Smooth Move tea at GNC and boy did my belly rumble but it did not actually work for me.

I am heading to GNC today to do my monthly shopping, and am going to try the Psyllium Husk.

Something is bound to work!!

butrf1yb1u Tue, Mar-04-03 09:30

Mornin

The Laci Lebeau Dieters Tea actually works better for me...I found this in the diet food area(not pharmacy diet area ...I think the same aisle as the peanut butter and diabetic candies) of Cubs out here.

Smooth Move is in the Tea area ...this was at Albertsons.

Dont know if you have those two stores in your area, but it should be in either two of those areas...tea, and diet/diabetic area.

BB.

Both teas work....note on the Laci...do just start off with the half dose that they reccommend.

Unfortunate product names

There are many unfortunate names for products out there. All of this poop talk reminds of one such unfortunate incident. When my father was to have surgery on his colon, the dr gave him stuff to drink called "go lightly". It was designed so you did everything BUT go lightly. Remember, to do surgery on the colon, it must be clean.
Now, there are sugar free candies called "go lightly" and I do not think I would ever find the courage to ever buy them knowing what I know about the name.

Go Lightly
Smooth Move
What's next? !

reese Tue, Mar-04-03 10:03

I found that the "powdered stuff"

Comes in a pill form that does not have sugar in it. The stuff I used was called "fibercon" I think.

pegm Tue, Mar-04-03 12:35

Wow, so glad I found this thread -- I'm going to give the tea a try. I have tried everything else -- psyllium husks, Fibercon, flax, always have lots of veggies, water, and exercise -- but the only thing that's worked at all for me is the sf candy with malitol. Unfortunately, I believe it can cause stalls (weight loss stalls, that is!).

Thanks so much for the tea tip -- I always learn so much here!

mommame Tue, Mar-04-03 12:46

I had the same problem. I went to walmart and bought the flax oil capsules. They took care of the problem perfectly. Just be careful the bottle says 2 per day. I found that i could only take 1 every other day or I couldn't stay out of the bathroom.
