I'm new... ! I'm excited and nervous.

I don't know if my introduction is supposed to be done here... but I just wanted to let you know that I am very happy that a support forum exists for low-carb dieters. I have just completed my first day of induction and though I am extremely determined to make this work, I feel very jittery today and nauseous. Is this normal? I feel like I must be in withdrawal. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.

I have 60 lbs I have to lose. Have tried everything under the sun but after reading Dr. Atkins' book, I feel that there is finally hope.

Wish me luck!

:p

Hi,
Welcome here. There are all sorts of threads here about withdrawal. If you type in withdrawal in search you might find something.

I had incredible symptoms on the 5th day of Induction. The worst headaches ever. But they went away and into week three I felt fantastic.

Good luck to you.

Hi there Jessica......

What you are experiencing is normal for starting a Low Carb diet. It's going to take a few days for your body to clear from the carbs you have been eating and to shift gears to fit LCing! I had about three days that I felt horrible, but I hung in there and by the end of two weeks of induction I felt much better.

Maybe read some of the journals and you will get an idea of what it was like for others at the beginning of their journey!

Welcome to the forum!

Marlaine

Thank you for your responses!! I'm on day 3 now and I feel much better already. I noticed this morning that when I got up early with the kids, it was much easier to get going. Usually I'm sooo lethargic in the morning. I feel that I have more pep than usual.

Last night I had a whopper of a headache but it's gone now. My cravings aren't as bad as I anticipated. I've lost 6 lbs already. I don't know how to enter my current weight on the chart on the left of this message.

I could get used to this!!

Hi kjjmom66,

I am a fairly new newbie also - welcome! Everyone here is great!

To change your weight, go into your profile and adjust the weight there - it will show up under your name with a percentage of how much you have lost.
