goal weight

Hi, I was wondering how everyone decided on a goal weight? I haven;t weighed in the 130's since i was a sophmore in high school, but i am very short! i am maybe 5'1" and i did the wrist thing to discovery i have a small frame, but it has been 6yrs since i have been even close to what is supposed to be a healthy weight for me. (no i am not very muscular either).

My question is , is it unrealistic for me to have a goal weight that is a weight i haven't been since i was 15? or does that not matter at all? i hope that made sense...i jsut don't want to set myself up for a disappointment or make unrealistic goals, because i don't know the right way to set my goal

A goal weight is not 'set in stone'. It's just a number you decide on for now. It might be an idea to set a higher number until you see how you look and feel a you approach it.

Many people are surprised to find that they are smaller at a higher weight on LC because it keeps lean, sleek, heavier muscle and loses the lighter, fluffy fat.

Besides, you'll have all the fun of hitting your goal early and then deciding if you want to change the number. It's all about health, not just making a number.

For most of my adult life I weighed between 150 and 155. I gained 40 pounds over the past 9 years. I just wanted to get back to the weight I was at for so long. If I end up at 160 I'll be happy.
