I had a cheat day

Hi Everyone, UGH! I could kick myself in the butt. I am in week 6 with Atkins and have not even had one cheat bite. Well yesterday we went to a buffet which I have gone to several times since on this WOL and done fine. But I ended up eating 1 1/2 roll, honey butter, choc. chip cookie and a piece of lemon marange pie!!!!!! Then when I got home I ate about 3 cups of pistachios!!! I got up this morning and weigh the same but do you have any idea how long this will throw me into a stall!!?????

It usually affects weight loss for a week. Not saying you'll gain, but that's according to DANDR and I've noticed it on myself. If I get right back to ketosis and drink lots of water for several days, I can usually recover in 4 or 5 days and get losing again.
Don't beat yourself up, we all have done it. :)

You probably won't notice for a couple days, but if you get right back on track it probably won't have any lasting effect.

I look at it this way, its not like one days damange is going to drop 10 pounds on you over night. Just get right back on track and no one will be the wiser. Hey, some times these things happen. Drink lots of water. Keep in mind it will take your body about three days to get back into ketosis. But some times those three days can be worth it. ;) Keep these cheats few and far between though!

HI!

I SO feel for you. I have been doing Induction for 11 days now and I cheated BIG time last night...I had THREE mudslides (an alcoholic drink made with kahlua, vodka, a little whipped cream and chocolate). I almost started crying this morning, and don't feel so bad because I weigh THREE POUNDS more than I did 24 hours ago!!!! At least you weigh the same.

Now I realize my weight gain is probably just water weight thanks to the nice people on this board. What they all told me was to jump back on the bandwagon, drink tons of water and keep my chin up. We can't undo what we did but we CAN be sure that all of our hard work continues by being REALLY good and using this as a learning experience, right?

Good luck and just know you are not alone.

A slipup is certainly not the end of the world. In the words of Dr Phil...

"If after all you planning and good intentions, you do overindulge, don't go on a guilt trip. Guilt is a useless emotion that only weakens your resolve to successfully manage your weight. Get over it and move on."
