Apple Cider Vinegar

A quick question: Is apple cider vinegar the same as balsamic vinegar? I tried to look for apple cider vinegar on fitday and didn't see it. I know Atkins says no balsamic vinegar so I'm a little afraid to use my apple cider vinegar for any food.

Thanks!!

Balsamic Vinegar isn't the same and has sugar (avoid it on Atkins).

If you like Apple Cider Vinegar have it. But remember you are allowed REAL dressings on Atkins. In fact often adding the fat and calories helps us lose.

Check labels for any dressings 2 carbs or under for a 2TBS serving and enjoy. Paul Neuman has a few Italian dressings 1 carb per serving and then caesar, ranch and blue cheese are usually under that as well.

I actually make a dressing with mayo, salsa (1 carb per TBS) and a little water. Kind of my own thousand island...

I make homemade bleu cheese dressing

1/2 c mayo
1/4 c sour cream
bleu cheese crumbled
1 tbs vinegar
salt and pepper

This is a great dip for veggies as well as a salad dressing. Also helps to add in the FAt.
