Hmmm. Do you happen to have a FitDay account? (http://www.fitday.com) If not, set one up and track your food intake and see how much protein you're eating. The Zone recommends that I eat around 90 grams of protein per day. Generally speaking, I eat from 100-130, and that's from roughly the following per day:
1 cup Carb Countdown
1 or 2 eggs (sometimes no eggs)
6-8 ounces of meat
Sometimes an ounce or two of cheese
A few nuts (1/4-1/2 cup)
Odds and ends of protein found in vegetables, etc.

I think 1 ounce is about 28 grams. When I do it in my head I usually round up to 30 grams.

1 ounce = 28 grams
1 Tablespoon [Fat or Oil] = 14 grams

A six ounce steak is about 41 grams of protein. I definitly eat mor than 56 grams of protein in a day. More like 200 or so, give or take a few.

Or, even easier, just Google for
56 grams in ounces

You can also google for stuff like
100 miles in millimeters

or any other measurement conversion you want...if you use the Safari browser with the built-in Google toolbar, it's always right there.

so 56 grams = 1.97534187 ounces

Just make sure that you don't canfuse a 6 oz peice of meat for more protein than it is worth. there is a weight of the fat that needs to betaken into concideration as well.

If two oz appox equals 56 grams than a six ounce steak would equal 168 grams. Not the case.

An ounce of meat has approximately 7 grams of protein, an egg has about 6 grams of protein.
