Atkins Foods Delivered To Home?

Yesterday I received a postcard from "ATKINS AT HOME". Claiming they will deliver prepared foods to our doors. I'm heading over to their site to check it out...just wondering if anyone else saw this too...

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather cook for myself, but maybe there'll be something of interest...

LOL

Well, scratch that idea...at least for me. I'd need a second mortgage on my house.

They offer weekly or monthy delivery of fresh foods. It's $34.95 per day on the monthly plan (so that's $1,000ish US) and $39.95 a day for a daily plan (minimum 1 month)...

If you're rich, can't cook, and very busy this might be a good idea.

Thanks Donald - holy cow, if I had an extra $1,900 (Canadian dollars that is), it wouldn't be spent on something I could do myself. I printed the menus though, most of the meals, you can do at home yourself quite easily.

Thanks again.

This really is the joke of the day. You know who can afford it? The same celebrities who pay similar prices to have Zone meals delivered.

Who wants to have them decide what you get to eat anyway?

If I werer a rich man...

The thing is, I checked it out because the idea is good. I think it could be very helpful for many people. But clearly, the economics of doing this on a large scale don't work, otherwise they wouldn't have to charge so much and therefore make it available to so few.

We have a Zone Meals service in Vancouver and it is - as Donald pointed out - for people who are well-to-do and don't have the time or inclination to cook.

I've talked to the chef of the company that produces them and he tells me that they are selling like LC hotcakes. But, any chef will tell you business is fabulous. ;)

The price? Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and 2 Snacks for $39.95 per day!
