Question about OWL

I was reading in my book earlier about once I am on OWL to add 5 carbs per week until you get to a point where there is not weight loss then drop it back. Lets say 50 carbs is no loss. So I would go to 45 carbs. My question is once I get into Pre I am supposed to add 10 carbs till I stop losing but I dont see how that is possible seeing as how I am only 5 carbs away from that CCLM. Am I looking at this all wrong. Please help so I dont mess up

When you hit pre-maintenance, you add 10 carbs per week until you begin to gain slightly, then drop back. You are searching to find your number of carbs you can consume without gaining, since once you are on maintenance you don't want to lose more or gain any. So, you might not be able to lose above 40, but you might not gain until you get over 70, for example. So, you would want to keep your lifetime carbs per day under 70 most of the time.
