Experience-GSE/Yogurt

I used to have frequent/monthly yeast infections due to years of oral antibiotics due to infertility problems.

My little pug dog, also had 2 surgeries and of course - antibiotics afterward. She had yeast/dermatitus in her wrinkles on her face.

Doctors and vets prescribed many different meds for us - oral and topical. I finally found a doc who was more in tune with using natural rememdies and this was his rx--which worked.

Grapefruit Seed Extract--use it orally for 2 weeks.
Give up sugars and reduce fruits.
Homemade yogurt from heavy cream and whole milk, but let the yogurt sit a full 24 hours b4 refrigeration to make certain all the lactose is gone. (No store bought or probiotics).
Double strength cups of mint tea (gas relief)

for the dog, i made up my own remedy - i gave it orally and made a weak solution for her nose. for 5 years we have been infection free. now when i take the dog to the vet they always check her nose (common among pugs to have dermatitus there) and they exclaim, how do you keep this clean???!!! we never see a pug without this trouble etc. i try to tell them, but i don't know if they believe me or not. but she and i are living proof that this stuff works.

i am sure others here have used GSE or Citracidal. i am such a believer that i began to manufacture a soap with honey and GSE.

Ally.. Your yogurt recipe

Hi, Ally,

Can you share your yogurt recipe? I have a yogurt maker and I used to make my own, but I don't remember ever using heavy cream for it.

Thank you!

Hi! I have a french bulldog, and he gets gunk in the wrinkles on his face, too. What did you put on your doggie? Thanks for the info!!
