Breakfast

Hi!

I do some sanwiches without bread...a large leaf of Romaine sallad, ham, cheese, turkey ham....cream cheese. I also use crisp dark bread from WASA, it is swedish, no idea if you have it in the US...it's really lowcarb, lots of fibre.

Good luck!

Have you tried the Mock Danish recipe posted here? This has so many variations and is delicious!! Also, sometimes I have tuna with mayo and celery sticks to scoop it up with. Or if I have leftover chicken from the night before....I am not really a breakfast person, but these seem to work well for me.

Hi.......you can have pieces of cold meat.........hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs.......chicken salad........cold deep dish pizza quiche, rolled up ham & swiss cheese......breakfast meatballs, quiche...........lots of things~ *s*
Think outside the box~..........whatever you like.......does not have to be traditional breakfast food.
I love the mock danish but am never satisfyed enough with just that. Good luck~

AlluraD:

What are breakfast meatballs?? Sounds pretty yummy!

AlluraD Wed, Feb-12-03 11:20

Hi~ *s* They are listed in the forum under breakfast ideas.....there are some great recipes there.

2 lbs. breakfast sausage (roll type)
1 lb. ground hamburger...
1/2 lb. shredded cheddar cheese
egg
minced onion?? or onion powder

shape into meatballs and bake till done.......they are great........I freeze them 5 in a baggie and they are easy to grab for breakfast.......check the forum for the real recipe, not sure of the measurments or if I left anything out.

I also make a spnach, egg & swiss frittat in muffin pans on sunday for the week.........recipe makes 12......it's there too~ *s*

Betsyjane..........have you started a journal??? I am from Upstate NY~

BetsyJane Wed, Feb-12-03 11:25

AlluraD:

I have not started doing the journal yet. I really think I will, though. It seems to be a good way to keep track and get some great feedback.

I live in a suburb of Rochester. Where are you from?

AlluraD Wed, Feb-12-03 11:43

Grew up on LI.........went to college in Brockport and lived there for a long time......then near Ithaca for about 10 years and now I am here in FL.

A journal is a very useful thing.........and people can post to you there and know where to find you~ Welcome~

Take a fairly thick slice of ham. Cover it with a few slices of mozzarella cheese and microwave it or broil it to warm it up and melt the cheese. It's simple but tastey. Its good as a snack too.

My friend found this website that has lots of easy-to-prepare low carb recipes. I haven't tried any of them yet, but several seem promising:

They also have quite a few pudding recipes that I think I would enjoy having for breakfast.

Hope you find something good!

I like eating cold pizza quiche for breakfast, but I think I could eat it for every meal.

It's boring, but I have cottage cheese mixed with a few blueberries or strawberries most weekday mornings. It's fast and I don't like heavy breakfasts. If you do eat cottage cheese, check the carb count on the label, it varies among brands.

You could also try some of the low carb hot cereals (Keto makes one in several flavors at 3 grams carb per serving); check your local health food store to see if they carry it.
Another option would be full fat unflavored yogurt with Splenda and a few berries.

pancakes

Hi,
I have a pancake recipe I make every morning.
1/4 Cup plain protein powder
1 egg
Enough water to make desired consistency

Mix with a wire wisk. Grease a pan with pam cooking spray, and cook till lightly brown on both sides. The consistency is alittle doughy, but I really like it. Slather with butter and Atkin's pancake syrup, and you have a 1 carb breakfast!
