Red Thai Pork
As I'm from the UK I was a bit worried about posting this as I wasn't sure if everyone would be able to find the ingredients. But then I thought, why not post it anyway!
Approx 300g Strips of Pork (suitable for stir frying) Red Thai Curry Paste Fine Green Beans Soured Cream Stir fry the pork in olive oil, when browned, add the fine green beans (I used fresh, because the frozen ones tend to go soggy). Add a couple of teaspoons of Red Thai Curry Paste (or more if your mouth can stand it, lol). Cook for a further 5-10 mins. Turn the heat right down and add a dollop of sour cream. Give it a good stir and voila.... Red Thai Curry Paste is approx 8.5g carbs per 100g - but you would use much, much less than this - I used 20g, which is 1.7g carbs. Soured cream - 0.8g carb per 20ml Green beans - 3g carb per 100g - I used 50g This is something which is so quick and easy and you could also make it as Green Thai Pork - substitute Red Thai Paste with Green Thai paste and add some coconut cream along with the soured cream. Also good with chicken! |
Hi Demi,
I love curry. Thanks for the recipe. Those ingredients are readily available in supermarkets here. Thanks so much. Looks deliciousssss!! :D Ruby |
Thanks Demi!!
That sounds delicious!! If I have time tomorrow, I'll pick up the ingredients and give it a try!! I've been wanting something different! (Actually would try to get it for today but have a bunch of chicken I just cooked up yesterday!! ) Talk to you later! Ellie  |
Demi: Any other good currey recipes you can pass along? I'm on Toronto (Ontario, Canada) and we have access to all kinds of Thai, Indian and other such foods, spices, etc... And I love ALL kinds of food - even curry obviously.
Any ideas or pointers would help! Thank you! Michael |

Can anybody tell me where I can find Red Thai Curry Paste? I live in South Louisiana. This sounds scrumptious and I'd LOVE to try it!

Hope you've found it by now, Carole! I moved from Chicago to a VERY small town in the upper midwest, and I find the Thai Kitchen brand of curry paste -- both red and green -- in the Asian section of the grocery, right next to good old LaChoy chow mein noodles and soy sauce. I bet your stores have it, or can get it, too.

I get my Thai supplies here: http://importfood.com/
I LOVE THAI FOOD!!!! I can't eat sour cream though... Quote:
I love it on steamed broccoli. When I go into my favorite restaurant I always order a side of steamed broccoli. The spinach is a great idea too! I'll try that. Favorite Thai dish: Panang Duck |
could you have it over shirtaki noodles? On a Thai related note: Has anyone tried Pad Thai with shiritaki?
