can I eat pickles????
I am still on that 2nd day of induction, and still feeling like crap, but what I wanted to knwo was can we eat pickles??? I see cucumbers on the list of acceptable foods, but see nowhere anything about pickles. The label on the jar reads 0 carbs. Please let me know. Thanks for all the posts. I enjoy reading all of them. Also when do you all weigh yourselves? weekly? every couple of days?

I think as long as there is no sugar in the ingredients they should be fine, I eat a new brand called Snackems, very good and only a few does the trick!!

Avoid sweet pickles, stick to dill pickles if you need them. When reading labels, note the SERVING SIZE. If it's really small, then the carb count may be less than 1 gm PER SERVING. But it could be hard to eat only the serving size they state.
Foods may be labelled zero carbs per SERVING if they are less than 1 gram of carbs. So if you eat 2 servings, you could be eating almost 2 grams of carbs right there. You will soon feel better - about day 4 or 5. If you feel weak, eat some more veggies to add a few carbs. Or take potassium in the form of 'salt substitute' like No-Salt or Half-Salt. Stick to your plan and you'll soon feel better and be smaller. Good luck. |
Each week I would buy a cucumber and just not use it all up before it started going bad. Now what I do is cut it in half. Half I cut up and put it in a container with different types of vinegar and dill weed. I do the same for tomatoes. This ends up being my salad dressing (with some good oils added). Or sometimes I just make the vinegar cucumbers one of my side dishes. :yum: I'm still experimenting with the vinegars and spices. And I know that there is no salt 'cause I didn't add any!
