Hi I'm from CA, USA following Charles Clark!

Hi everyone, is anyone on Charles Clark's eating plan? After much research and not to put down Dr. Atkins, but I think I've finally found the plan for me.

I live in CA and spent a small fortune ordering his books from amazon.com uk, but I think it's worth it!

I discovered him by accident, while reading an article about his plan on the internet and how it's sweeping Scotland.

I knew immediately this was the low carb plan for me. I love veggies, and the fact that I can eat all I want of low-starch veggies without weighing or measuring, along with my fats and protein pushed me over the edge!

I started this morning and am sticking to 40 carb grams a day (after I deduct fiber - I hear the labels already deduct fiber for you in the u.k.) since it's very hard for me to lose weight, in general.

Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Hi again to everyone! My mother-in-law was born in Epsom, Surrey!

Way-hey, another Charles Clark follower... I thought I was alone.

It really is a great book isn't it. Short and to the point, yet comprehensive enough to allow you to fully understand how it all works. It all just makes so much sense when you read it. I can't speak highly enough about both the plan and the book.

I'm such a newbie at this myself that I caouldn't really offer any tips or advise except to say, drink loads of water (I drink no less than four pints every day, and sometimes six+) and remember his comments that this is a diet which doesn't allow you to cheat.

I did my 4th weekly weigh-in yesterday and I've now lost 21lbs in exactly four weeks... feeling pretty good with myself.

Stick with it and keep in touch!

PS ~ The Fast Food guide book is okay but I fear it wouldn't be too relevant to the US. Or have you already gone out and bought it?

Hi Joycelyn

Interested to read that you really love the Charles Clark book and now you can spread the word in the US. I certainly see it as a simple version of Atkins.

I wish you every success. Glad you love eating veggies. It is those that make this such a healthy way of life.

Every success.

I recently bought his "Fast Food Cookbook" and find it a treasure :D As my profile says, I read a lot of books and in the end opted for my version of generic low carb, which is closer to CC than to Atkins.

HI IAN I HAVE JUST STARTED ON (THE NEW HIGH PROTEIN DIET) AND I HAVE READ THE BOOK OVER AND OVER AGAIN. WHAT I DO LOVE ABOUT THE BOOK IN THAT I DONT AFTER WORRY ABOUT MY CALORIES INTAKE AS LONG AS I CAN KEEP MY CARBS DOWN. MY CARBS INTAKE ARE FROM 15g TO 20g FOR THE DAY. WHICH I AM REALY HAPPY ABOUT AS I FIND COUNTTING CARBS ALOT BETTER THAN COUNTTING CALORIES. THE ONLY THING IS I THINK I GO OVER MY CALORIES INTAKE FOR THE DAY SOME TIMES 3,000 TO 3,500 IS THIS BAD? BUT IT DOSE SAY IN THE BOOK NO MATTER HOW MANY CALORIES I HAVE I WANT PUT ON WEIGHT AS LONG AS I KEEP MY CARBS DOWN. IS THIS RIGHT OR WRONG WOULD LOVE YOUR INFO ON THIS THANKS VERY MUCH ANDY
