20 carbs or 3 Cups Veggies?
Often I eat my 2 cups of salad a day and 1 cup of other veggies, but I still don't manage to reach 20 carbs per day (I use fitday). I do eat cheese but since I limit that as well, it doesn't make the big of an impact carb-wise.
Should I up my amount of veggies on such days so that I am closer to 20 net carbs or is it more important to stick with the 3 cups total veggies? I am staying on Induction for now, although I may increase carb intake for a few days, then back to Induction to see if I get a "kick start". Opinions welcome! :sunny: |
Personally I always aimed for as close to 20 carbs per day as possible. I think (I might be wrong,. but this is the way I do it) that the 3 cups of vegies should be taken as a 'minumum' requirement, rather than a total requirement.
More vegies is always a good thing IMO :) It also might help you lose faster, I noticed in another thread you said it was quite slow going for you?? |
Yes, definitely use a carb counter and measure your veggies to get the best value for your 20g net carbs ;)
Just for the record ... if you check the list of Acceptable Foods for Induction, you'll see that the 2 - 3 cups of "salad" isn't just lettuce. The list includes mushrooms, cucumber, bell peppers, bok choy, bean sprouts and many other vegetables. Enjoy! Doreen |
