Name your 5 favorite foods on Aktins
Hey Everyone-
I'm stalling a bit in induction due to experiments with "frankenfoods" and I thought if I went back to basics and stuck to a few key foods for a few days, then incorporate other induction foods, I would get a grip - so my question: What are your top 5 foods (or dishes) you recommend that are induction friendly and seemed to be most effective at promoting loss? |
Egg salad, scrambled eggs, steak salad, hot wings....
I have noticed the more eggs I eat the easier it is to lose weight. Strange but true. Hope that helps. :) |
steak, cream in my coffee, cashews (not the best choice, I know!),deviled eggs, cheese.
Not all at once, of course. :D |
This is so helpful! I'm making a list of these and having them be my automatic food shopping list, so I stay focused. Please keep them coming!

My taste changes all the time because I think keeping this fresh helps you enjoy this WOE so much more.
My 5 favorites along the way have been and include: cut up red pepper w/ cream cheese grilled chicken caesar salad (minus the croutons) or a greek salad philly style cheesesteak w/ fried onions (minus the roll) zucchini muffins protein powder pancakes |
mmm....
Hot wings Tuna Salad Spicy pork rinds with cheese melted on them and sour cream :D Cream cheese and celery Pizza burgers |
Bacon, hamburger patty, steak, grilled chicken, pepperoni -- I like to put cheese on a lot of that too. I do six slices of bacon in the microwave for six minutes, I like it crunchy, sprinkle with grated cheese, and heat again to melt the cheese. One of my favorite snacks. :)
Oh, and it's not a food, but I love Diet Rite with Davinci sugar free french vanilla. I practically live on it. Virginia |
•Quiche
•Homemade Taco meat •Homemade Sushi (livin' dangerous!) •Caesar Salad •Broccoli w/ dip or Mayo |
*Salami slices spread w/ cream cheese
*Wendy's salads (minus any stuff I can't have)... I make my own "honey mustard" dressing w/ mayo, mustard, vinegar, and Splenda - or I use olive oil and vinegar w/ a little Splenda & garlic powder. *Deviled eggs *Big juicy hamburgers w/ cheddar cheese and Kraft mayo *Taco salad... hamburger & taco seasoning, lettuce, onion, cheese, sour cream, & Frank's red hot sauce |
Eggs in any form, sausage, steak, lamb chops, brussel sprouts, sharp cheddar cheese, sugar-free jello, advantage bars-they don't bother me. Enjoy!
:D :D :D |
tuna salad
deviled eggs hot dogs with cheese and mayo salt and vinegar pork rinds (I had to order them over the net) bacon cheese burger (minus the bun of course) buffalo wings? I didn't think I could eat them??? I will have to check the net carbs!! |
I am new to the diet too. So far, I like to eat my own Seafood Salad. I do have to note that the kind at the grocery store often has cornstarch added. I also like salads with blue cheese and bacon as well as crab meat mixed wtih cream cheese on celery.
I think everyone here is wonderful for sharing their suggestions. It makes me laugh when people ask me, "Well, What can you eat?" :) |
My top 5:
- Filet Mignon or Ribeye cooked on the grill (med-rare of course) - Chicken or Veal marinated in egg/cream/seasoning then brearded with freshly grated parmesean reggiano and fryed in olive oil/butter - Cream Cheese/SF rasberry Jello concoction. (simple to make, mix cream cheese with heavy cream, 1-3 pkts or splenda and a tsp of vanilla... then make the jello according to the directions, throw both the unset jello and the cream cheese mixture in a blender and then pour into bowl and chill) - zuchinni squash "hash browns" (shread zuchinni, add beaten egg and seasoning, fry with butter) - Turkey Tenderloins with Spinach - (pre-steam spinach, slice turkey breast tenderloin to 1/2 cutlets, season turkey, place spinach and cheddar cheese on top. bake with butter) The above are on this week's top 5 list ;> Cheers! |
In response to the question about Buffalo Wings....
I make Buffalo Tenders by taking chicken tenderloins and tossing them in a bit of soy flour. I fry these in peanut oil (any oil but olive oil will work, olive oil has too low of a smoke point to cook them fast) For the sauce I use 2 parts butter to 3 parts Frank's hot sauce. Toss 'em together, and you have Buffalo tenders :) The only carbs appear to come from the soy flour. (Frank's does not appear to have carbs, although I have never tested for hidden carbs) |
hot wings (with franks red hot buffalo wing sauce :) )
cheese salads (my fav definitly) a good steak every now and then cream cheese and celery |
