What's up with weight GAIN during Induction?
In my travels around the forum I've come across many many threads and posts where someone has had a large weight loss at the beginning of induction followed by a gain again towards the end or shortly after completing induction. That experience can be frustrating and depressing. I KNOW that because I've been there. It's all reported in my journal.
In retrospect, with the knowledge I've accumulated about LCing since then, I think that bounce the scale does is WATER weight and only water weight. My understanding is that the major change in diet to LC causes our bodies to let go of a lot of the water that it's been holding to support our previous High Carb diets. So there is a shift in the purpose of the water content of our bodies. It's almost like our bodies go: Whoops, got carried away there. Better hang on to some water here, just in case. And back it comes. Besides all of that, we all KNOW (don't we?) that it is not possible to lose or gain pounds of fat in a few days or hours! So what else could it be, but water? Anyone with more concrete knowledge on the subject? Please feel free to inform and correct me! Marlaine |

Thanks Karen. That is a GREAT piece of information and I've read it more than once. Worth copying and saving on my own box here so that I can remind myself from time to time!
