Encouragement needed!

After having great results on the first weeks by losing 8 lbs, I have gained 2 as of this morning, day 10. The only thing I have added to my diet is the Atkins Bread, 3g per slice, and Atkins bars, 2g per bar. I have still kept the carbs under 20g. I am hoping it is PMS water gain but still need some encouraging words. I am starting to smell like a pork rind, and a depressed one at that.

I think you just answered your own question. As you've probably read numerous times on this forum, the bars can cause a stall in some people. The bread might have the same effect. I say cut them both out and get back to what was working for you originally.

Good luck!

I guess that's it. I am new so I hadn't read of the stalling process. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Calamity,

Welcome aboard the "help me" train to LCing. :help: I just wrote a post similar to yours last night for the same reasons. You're probably right that it's your "time of the month" (TOM) that's causing you to hold water. So you may want to stay away from the scales at least until you're sure the TOM and it's effects have passed.

If you're still in induction, (first 2 weeks), those bars and bread may be adding too many carbs or a type of carb that your body isn't ready for. I'm not sure... there are a lot of wise and experienced people on this forum who may be able to give you direction about that.

What I have to offer is support. We're in this together. Glad you decided to tell someone you're feeling challenged. Review the forum. There are quite a few of us in this with you. It's unfortunate that we deprive ourselves of the joy of losing 8lbs in 1 week because the 2nd and 3rd weeks don't match up. Most programs don't allow for that much loss.

I'm making some adjustments.. increasing my H2O and exercise, decreasing my caffeine and whatever else I can think of to get this train moving again. The greatest counsel so far is PATIENCE and PERSEVERANCE... Let's keep in touch. As we find things that help, let's share.

Hang in there. You're part of the LC Family now. :bhug: (a big hug)

If I didn't know before I'm pretty sure now that TOM applies, as your very kind post has caused me to tear up. =) Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. They are greatlt appreciated.
