Moisture/Barometric Pressure Changes To Bathroom Scale?
 

Okay, call me crazy but I just have to ask. . . .

Does anyone else notice their bathroom scale acting weird if there is moisture in the bathroom or on a rainy day?

I have a digital bathroom scale. Several months ago I noticed a pattern where I weighed more if my husband had already taken a shower vs. if he was still in the bed. So, I moved the scale to the 1/2 bath where there was no significant fluctuation in the air moisture. The scale remained consistent after the move. However, we've not had any significant rain in about two months.

This morning it's raining buckets and has been raining all night and its scheduled to rain the rest of the day. My barometer glass is sky high and so is my scale.

Anyone else notice this or does my scale bloat as badly as I do??? ;-)

Sandy, I've never heard that theory before ... but I like it. I too bloat up when the weather is damp and humid, especailly my ankles. My theory is that the increased barometric pressure causes the changes in ME not the scales. Who knows?? I think I'll stick to weighing once a week, and not paying too much attention of it's a muggy day, my ankles are swollen and the scales show a higher number.

I just exchanged a set of digital scales yesterday bc of inaccurate readings. Brought the new one home and...same reslut. I weigh 5 pounds more on the digital one than I do on the dial one. Not only that I weigh a different ammount in every room of the house!! :(

I'm not sure I trust the digital scales bc I can't see that it is set on zero? You know what I mean? On a dial scale you can move that little knob around till it is right on zero...or back a little if you need to feel good :D

Anyone have any thoughts as to witch is more accurate...digital or dial?
