Closer I get to goal, the slower I lose - esp. inches

Seems that once I hit that 40 lb loss I am now losing inches at an incredibly slower pace - - I took my measurements today (last time 4 weeks ago) and noted that I only lost 1/4" on my thights, 1/4" on my bust and "1/4 inch on my hips. Total 3/4 inches overall. I was losing inches much faster before this. Granted, I lost 3 lbs during the last 4 weeks which is about average for me...I was hoping things would move (or should I say fall off me) quicker.

I have just started exercising (can't use that as building muscle reason for this slow measurement loss) at CURVES (1 session so far) and hope that by regular exercise I will start losing the inches faster.

Funny, I was so into losing the SCALE pounds but now I want those inches to fall off more...

The closer we get to our goal, the slower it goes. I think the body likes to hold on those nasty few pounds just to makes us frustrated.
Adding exercise will help boost your metabolism and getting things going again.
Make sure you are drinking enough water since you are adding exercise to your program. Drink BEFORE, DURING and AFTER a workout. I usually add at least an extra liter of water to my water amount for the day on days I workout.

I know exactly what you mean abotu caring more about the inches than the scale. At this point, I don't care what the scale says, I just want to look and feel good in my clothes. Right now, all my jeans are tight :(

I am with both of you! Once I hit the last ten pounds to lose mark, it has been unbelievably slow. I console myself with the fact that I haven't gained any inches back and I am in clothes I haven't worn in a while.

Apparently my fat loves being on me more than I love it. Kind of like one of those deadbeat people that just won't leave.

Yup, I'm with you on those last ten pounds. I'm not even expecting to lose more than a pound a month at this point. So maybe I shouldn't weigh for ten months and see what happens! Heh.

I weighed today for the first time all month (wasn't going to weigh at all this month, but I'm doing a CKD type carbup today and want to measure it scientifically) and I am down a pound... but I never trust 1 pound unless it really sticks around. Eh, either way it's all about getting in shape and toning for me.

Stick it out, guys, people DO reach goal! :)
