Hmmm... Scrunchy pants

Hi all,
Not sure if anyone else runs into this, but I find that after loosing for a bit, my pants become well... Scrunched from my belt pulling tighter to keep them on me.
Having a job with a uniform, its too expensive to go buy new clothes on every size drop, so I usually skip a size, so one fully size I get kind of scrunchy, LOL, not sure if there is an easier way to remedy this. I can't see how.

Small price to pay..

Hmm, I don't have that problem. But I don't really like belts. I have to pull my pants up a lot now. heheh. My main problem is my pants have been practically hanging off me. I'll be glad when I get to the next size down. I'm inbetween. :(

Dave,

One thing you can do is take them to a cleaners that has somebody that does alterations, or a tailor. My Mom did this for a while, and when she was here 8 weeks ago she took six inches out of the waist of 3 pairs of dress slacks for me. The cost to do this would be much less expensive than a new uniform.

I started at a size 56 and am still wearing the same slacks because of the alteration 60 lbs later. They are starting to get scrunchy again however, so I will have to buy a couple of pairs to get by with now......

jim had a good idea.

with me, i kinda like the scrunchieness- i just even it all out & it kinda looks cute and frilly almost haha. but im a chick, so, i can do that. ;)

u could also try to pinch the sides a bit- like fold em & pin em & then put your belt on.

Definately have them altered. If you go or call a fabric store and ask they can problably give you a name and number of someone who does alterations. This is usually less expensive than a cleaners or tailors. (I did this when my children were young so I could stay home and my price was much less.) The pants can be taken up on the back seam until the pockets get too close together and they can also be altered in the crotch and leg length.
Continue on your losing streak!

Don't cinch your belt so tight, that will help aleviate the scrunch some.

I'd like to say I feel sorry for you, but I don't, you big looser :p

Congratulations on your success so far!

Congrats on the weightloss! Isn't it great when you need to tighten up your belt! I'd recommend having those pants altered as well. It will be much less expensive than replacing them. When you do go out and get new pants you will love how much better they feel when the pants and the belt fit perfectly! So enjoy it when you get there.

Yup to getting them taken in. I was lucky enough to have a mom that taught me to sew when I was a kid, so I have been taking in my clothes as I go along where ever practical. I don't do tough alterations, but easy things like taking in a side seam on elasticized waist pants or a couple of darts in the waist of some jeans is well worth the effort.

I have done darts in the waists of my jeans also as I can't afford to go shopping all the time. Also, it helps since my waist seems to be losing a lot more quickly than my hips. I can see everything shifting and changing, but oh my hips.

So get them altered. I would pick a fabric store also. It is cheaper. Marty
