Stalliong...help please

I started the diet 10 days ago. I was really impressed as I lost 10 pounds in the first 4 days. But I haven't budged a pound for the last 6. Is this normal. I am getting very discouraged as of the last coupld of days. I have even increased my excercise.

Yes, it's perfectly normal. Hang in there; this is a journey that can only be measured by the week or month, not by days. Your weight can fluctuate day to day, even week to week, based on muscle tone, what you're eating, possible water retention... fat loss can be masked by these things on the scale.

Just as a side note, we generally tend to define a stall as no weight *or inch* loss for 6-8 weeks.

Absolutely normal. You might want to take measurements as well. I stalled in weight after losing 14 the first week, but my shape was changing during the whole time (less fat, more muscle, less waistline).

Keep it up weasel!!

Yes, I only lost 4 pounds during induction but after the 3 or 4 week I started losing about 2 pounds a week. Things will slow down then they speed up. Just stick with it and drink your water.

Good Luck,
Kat

Atkins has a powerfull diuretic effect. So its perfectly normal to lose a lot at first, and slow down shortly after.

I've just been through a 2 weeks episode myself where I lost nothing... I dropped a 1 pound this morning - finally!

You also said you increased your exercise - its possible that your muscle are bulking up - especially if you weren't exercising prior to starting Atkins.

So hang in there and give it some time!
