Chill. out.

I ate salads, plural, every day on induction. And I notice that you even state in your miniprofile up to the right there that you'll be doing this for life? Trust me, in a short while you will learn for yourself that veggies are your new best friend.

Back to my induction; I had either a salad or a cooked veggie (or two) at EVERY meal. I eat more veggies on Atkins than I ever did off it.

Get a good carb counter (a list with nutritional info on foods, many are available online, just google it), and choose a few veggies that you think you could live with, and just eat those during induction. After the two weeks are up, even if you din't want to up your carbs, you could still add in a few other types of veggies for variation. Just keep below 20 carbs a day. You will want to move out of induction (yes, I know the thought is scary) eventually, so when you're ready, just go for it. Increase the carbs very gently, Atkins recommended 5 more carbs a week, but just go with what feels best for you.

And above all, don't worry! The scared phase goes away, too.

My dear girl!
What ARE you doing?

Firstly, I suggest you read the book. You are NOT on Atkins if you are NOT consuming 20g of carbohydrates in the form of low carb veggies PER DAY!

You NEED the fibre from the veggies to flush your system through. Fibre also slows the absorbtion of fats and is ESSENTIAL to the health of your digestive system.

There are tonnes of low carb vegggies, ranging from lettuce, celery, zuchini, cauliflower, cucumber right through to aubergines.

Go and read the book properly please from cover to cover, so you understand what you are doing and why!

In the meantime, i suggest you make yourself a darn large salad for lunch, along with your protein intake ... a chicken breast for example, on lettuce, cucumber, celery, spinach leaves, plus a nice dressing with some olive oil dressing... and DRINK some water please both before and after....

Please read the book. You need to look after your body!

Read the book. You can even go on atkins.com for a list of allowed vegetables.

No veggies???? This is a low carb woe and 95% of the planet's vegetables are low carb. Therefore vegetables are a part of a low carb diet. Here is a brief list of some ideas, romaine lettuce, bell peppers of all colors, brocolli, cauliflower, asparagus, zuchini, mastard greens, turnip greens, spinach, spaghettie squash, avocados. Alot of these choices I've listed are actually fruit, such as bell peppers and squash. These are great cooked or raw.

Yikes. Eat your veggies girl. Not only do you need the nutrients/fiber/good carbs, it's going to get awfully boring only eating meast and fats.

The other night I ate an entire head for roasted cauliflower for a snack(!) and the night before I ate 4 whole roasted peppers for a snack and I still keep loosing weight and today I actually reached my goal! So, the moral of this story is, don't be afraid of your veggies- they are your friends!!

I don't count them any differently in terms of carbs.

Same carbs. I eat lots of frozen veggies because they last longer and are cheaper.
