what are placebo birth control pills made of?
TOM is visiting and I ususally take the placebos that my pills come with to keep on track with which day I am on so that I do not make a mistake. Today I was taking my placebo and I started wondering if it was simply a sugar pill, in which case I would not take it. I know it would not make a huge difference, but I was just wondering if anyone had any information about it. Thanks:)

Hi sunchick. I called my friend (who's a pharmacist) and he said that the pills are made of lactose. The "real" pills have hormones while the placebos do not. The base is the same. It is called a "sugar" pill because lactose is milk sugar. He also said that the amount of carb/lactose is insignificant, even to someone with lactose intolerance. I think they should be fine to take while LCing.
