Help! soy powder

When I first started low carbing I went out and stocked up on protein powders, etc., etc., plus loads of soy powder, because I thought soy powder was good for you. Since then I have noticed in several threads, dire warnings about soy, but havn't been able to get the bottom line. SO, if anyone can help explain all this and/or give me some uses for all this soy powder that I have, I would be eternally grateful :yay:

I have a niece whose entire diet is soy based. :( She is the most unhealthy looking girl her age (20) I believe I've ever seen. I did this Google search for her just a couple weeks ago. I'll admit I was surprised at the information I found! Especially since all 3 of my kids were raised on soy based infant formula! I'll just give the one site that had the most links on it. Good luck figuring it all out!

Here is a link to the most balanced article about soy that I've seen.

Rose, I want to thank you also for the site on soy. I have been having a soy shake each day, which was not to be counted in my carbs for the day in the Curves diet I follow. I have colitis and hypothyroidism. I don't need any further trouble. I have been off the carbs for a week now due to illness and I am starting back today minus the soy. Have a nice day. Susan

Thankyou,
That is a really great link, I now feel at my age I can probably have a shake every other day or so and not do any harm :yay: However, it would be quite interesting to know the levels of soy isoflavins we are getting in our poultry, eggs and meat!
