Monounsaturated Fat Lowers Breast Cancer Risk
Quote:
Don't you just love how they continue to push a Low-Fat Diet, which is normally high in Polyunsaturates relative to Monounsaturates...even after studies reveal that eating a diet high in Monounsaturates [such as a Low-Carb diet] may reduce your risk of certain cancers. |
PCRM an education and research group???

"said Dr. Neal Barnard of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a Washington-based education and research group." Sorry, PCRM is an activist, alarmist group pushing their vegan philosophy. Nothing to do with science. Why do the news people keep quoting this crackpot? |
Amazing! As they report that a study of 61,000 women showed no advantage for a low fat diet, they have to conclude that they still think a low fat diet is good for you. In general. Just CUZ, thats why!

That's because pushing the grain-based LF diet is an effective way to push the PCRM's real agenda, which is to get people to stop eating animal products. LC is very threatening to that agenda, for obvious reasons.

:bash: I wish everyone in the Western world was able to see through this kind of stuff. Sadly, most people lack either the critical thinking skills or the *facts*.  I'm really disappointed in CNN.
(edit: ) I just sent CNN a nastygram. RE: "Study: Low-fat diet doesn't fight breast cancer but certain fats may cut risk" Shame on you, CNN, for giving the inaptly named "Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine" any commentary space in one of your health stories. PCRM's mandate is to convince people to spare the lives of animals, not to learn the truth about nutritional health. They are funded by PETA and has been censured by the AMA for its "unethical tactics" ( http://www.consumerfreedom.com/acti...fm?DONOR_ID=106 ). 95% of their membership are *not* MDs, and Neil Barnard is a non-practicing psychiatrist. Surely you could have found a more trustworthy source of commentary on this study. |
