heavy cream question

Ok this may be a stupid question .........but is heavy cream the same as whipping cream? Im gonna make that deep dish quiche pizza 2morw and it calls for heavy cream.

yes they are the same but if the recipe calls for heavy whipping cream you dont necessarily have to whip it.

Heavy cream and whipping cream are almost the same thing – heavy cream contains 36-40% butterfat, while whipping cream contains 30-36% butterfat. They are equally interchangeable in recipes :)

Thank you. Ill use the whipping cream as i havent found any heavy cream here.

Whipping cream also has a stabilzer in it that helps it stay whipped. You can substitute heavy cream and whipping cream in recipes but if you want to whip it you'll get better results with whipping cream.
